I guess a more accurate name would be an end of day banded transparant, since the colors don't quite come togather and there is no core color so it's not an onionskin is it?. By the pattern of the streaks and spots, I would say it was an end of day and with the lack of a definitive pontil mark on one end it may be an end of cane. Great marble with a great size. There is one finely ground pontil mark and the other,
CONDITION: MINT(-) 9.0-9.3 I can find no evidence of play or use. The only thing I can find is a tiny flake right in the edge of the ground pontil mark, visible in the first picture and is clearly as-made. Visible in the second picture, are some sub-surface micro-bubbles that fizzed up near the end opposite the pontil mark. Finally upon close inspection with a bright light and loupe, I found a very shallow hairline running up the edge of one of the red streaks. It did not photograph and is not readily evident. | |||||
