I really love this old German Josephs coat. It has almost everything you're looking for with great size, rarity, and condition. Everything about this marble said "Pick ME!". At first it looks like an almost naked onionskin with not much more than a white core; but a little closer look shows that there are hundreds of tiny lines of colord glass, mainly white, barely separated and completely surrounding the marble. There are thin lines of red, green, blue, and orange interspersed with the white ones.
CONDITION: MINT 9.5 The surface is smooth and shiney with a nice wet gloss. There is a short twist crease and a small rough place right next to one of the pontil marks and is part of the process. Both are visible in the second picture. Also, to keep from leaving anything at all out, there is a couple of very tiny pinpricks with melted edges and didn't even show up in the enlarged pictures. All other specks and such shown in the pictures are sub-surface bubbles and their shadows from the bright lighting. It is Very rare to find these old large marbles in this wonderful condition. | |||||
