Whenever I look at this marble I can only think of the care and workmanship that went into the creation of this old beauty. There are 24 perfectly space ribbons of orange, blue, green, white, and yellow completely enclosing an equally well made translucent solid white core. Actually looks more like a Joseph's Coat with a solid core.
From the particularly bright colors, the exceptionally clear glass, and the two unfinished pontil marks, I would say this marble was made in Germany for the English gameboard market during the late 19th to early 20th centuries. This is a very rare and well designed marble indeed. CONDITION: MINT 9.7 Exceptionally wet and shiney look with just a tiny, clearly as-made, open air bubble very near and almost a part of one of the pontail marks visible at the upper left edge of the fourth picture.
