Here is an extremely rare peewee that is very seldom seen. Melon balls are fairly rare to begin with, and I don't know that I've ever seen but one other peewee version, especially one as small as this--just slightly over 3/8". Both of the pontil marks are unfinished indicating the marble was made during the latter 19th and early 20th centuries, circa 1870-1910.
CONDITION: NEAR MINT(+) 8.8 There is some very light 'pocket wear' that has cost the marble it's original luster, as well as a bit of dirt in the pontil marks that wasn't there when it left the factory. The little black speck that shows up in the fifth and sixth pictures is a small piece of debris from the manufacturing process. I don't see any hits, pinpricks, hairlines, or anything other that what I've just described. You may click here to view the grading system I use. | |||||
