Truely a Joseph's Coat of many colors. Twenty-two colored bands of red, white, blue, orange, and green almost completely cover the surface of a crystal clear base glass so clear that it allows you an unobstructed view all the way through to the other side.
Although the pontil marks are partially ground, they are not faceted in the manner of the earlier German marbles. That and the wonderfully clear glass and brilliant colors lead me to believe the production date is sometime during the latter nineteenth century, circa 1880-1910. CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.7 PRISTINE wet, mint surface with no sign of wear at all. The only anomoly I can find is a cold-roll crease around the equator.
