Here's an old German handmade cornhusk--quite rare and becomming more popular all the time. Dark amber base with a yellow band running from pole to pole. The unfinished pinched pontail mark looks more like a transitional than most of these late nineteenth century marbles. The opposite end doesn't have a pontail mark at all, indicating the marble may be an end of cane.
CONDITION: MINT(-) The surface doesn't show any signs of play or wear, except perhaps for three pinprick-like marks next to the yellow band. They appear to have a sort of melted look that suggest they were made while the marble was hot, so are apparently as-made. They didn't show up too well in the pictures.
