13 pink ribbons right on the surface of a semi-opaque, clambroth base glass that shows translucent when backlit. With the absence of any grind marks at the pontail ends, I would say the marble was made in the 1880-1910 era-the last of the old German handmades.
CONDITION: NEAR MINT 8.7 Light all over pitting, some with dirt from the centuries showing. All of the lines are complete and unbroken. My opinion is that most of the pitting is a feature of the exceptionally soft glass used to make these old translucents. You may click here to view the grading system I use. | |||||
