Here is an absolutely magnificent example of an Akro Agate LEMONADE OXBLOOD. The heavy application of oxblood, along with the accompanying opaque white wispy strands form a patented corkscrew around a highly UV reactive lemonade glass, i.e. containing uranium oxide. Also, the little eyelash-like marks at the ends of the oxblood corkscrew tell us that the marble was made before the so-called "pre-Freeze" improvement of 1922.
CONDITION: NEAR MINT 8.9 Very wet, shiny surface with two tiny pinpricks and just the slightest show of wear using a bright light and at least a 10x lense. I have seen many marbles in worse condition sold as mint. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 15.51mm or 0.61" at the equator. | |||||
