At over 100 years old, this gem certainly qualifies as an antique, and nearly all of it's features make it a rare wonder: At the center is a white three-ridged solid core while double red ribbons ride just above it's surface in the valleys, and at the peaks of the ridges and slightly separated are green ribbons that are just dripping with dust-like particals of fine aventurine. Then just below the surface of the marble and mirroring the ridges are triple orange lattice-like ribbons to complete the three stages.
As the pontail marks are both unfinished, and the base glass is quite clear with no bubbles and the further evidence of the bright coloring, I would estimate the manufacture date at circa 1880-1910. CONDITION: NEAR MINT 8.9 The surface has the wet shiny look with just a some very light wear you might expect from storage with other marbles for over 100 years. There is a couple of cold roll lines near one of the pontails which are as clean as the day it was made. It is clear that this marble has seen no play or use.
