There are two types of PEPPERMINT swirls; the older of which, have a solid opaque white base glass with the color on the surface, this example has a clear base glass with a layer, or skin, of white covered by two opposing bands of transparent cobalt blue alternating with panels of three pink ribbons with everything extending from pontail to pontail. These pontail marks are both unfinished. All of these features point to a manufacture date of the late Victorian period, circa 1880-1910.
CONDITION: MINT 9.4 The surface is wet and shiny with no sign of wear; most of what appear to be pinpricks are shadows of tiny bubbles trapped between the casing glass and the color layer. Also, there are some places that are a bit out of round such as the left side of image three. Any anomolies are clearly as-made during the manufacturing process.
