A bright red ribbon edged on both sides by translucent cornelian wind around a shiny blueish green base glass to make what collectors know as an Akro Agate corkscrew: a tri-color SPECIAL. Close attention to the fifth and sixth pictures will reveal the slight eyelash-like impressions usually referred to as "pre-Freeze" improvement marks which indicate that this is one of Akro's earlier efforts, circa pre-1922.
CONDITION: NEAR MINT(+)8.9 The surface has the wet shiny look of a mint marble but there is a cluster of tiny pinpricks visible at the edges of the first and fifth pictures. There are a couple of other trifling as-made anomoliess that are readily visible in the images. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 16.62mm or 0.654" at the equator. | |||||
