The Peltier Rainbos that were made in the 1940s are some of the most volatile, concerning price, of any in the marble collecting world. I've seen some that wouldn't bring $5.00 for a box of 100, and some that would individually bring $10, $20, $50 and on up. So far, I haven't discovered all there is to know about them other than the less common they are, the more they are worth.
This one certainly falls into the uncommon category. The pale pink base glass in three quadrants of the surface, pale blue in the other, has four cobalt blue ribbons meeting at two seams on opposite ends of the marble. There are also red and orange ribbons that you can see best in the fourth picture. CONDITION: The surface is wet and shiny with no sign of wear at all. All I can find with a bright light and lens are a few very tiny dimples with melted edges that are common to all Peltier products. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 14.44mm or 0.568" at the equator. | |||||
